Capel Street, Sunday 2nd February

Join us for Brigit 2025: Dublin City Celebrating Women, as we take to the streets in a vibrant celebration of the strength and resilience of women! Starting at the top of Capel Street, watch an eclectic procession featuring walkers, roller skaters, Brigits on bikes, dancers, and more. Leading the way will be this year’s centrepiece – Brigit Shining, designed by Sabine Dargent. Together, we’ll journey through the heart of Dublin, paying joyful tribute to the inspiring women who paved the way and those who will light the path to the future.

This year’s parade features:

Brigit Shining
Brigit Shining: Stiltwalker and Dance Procession Leading the 2025 Parade. Experience the magic of Brigit Rising, a captivating spectacle at the heart of the 2025 parade. A stunning stiltwalker, adorned in a breathtaking costume designed by renowned set designer Sabine Dargent, will lead the procession, accompanied by a dynamic ensemble of dancers. Together, they bring to life the spirit of Brigit.

50 First Skates
50 First Skates return to the Brigit Parade, adding flair and energy with synchronized roller skating and colourful costumes. They celebrate women’s strength while gliding boldly into the future.

Macushla Dance Club 50+
The Macushla Dance Club 50+ returns to the parade, showcasing the power of movement at any age. With their energy and passion, this vibrant group inspires with every step, proving that dance is for everyone, at every stage of life.

Proud Vulva Brigits
The Proud Vulva Brigits wear tabards adorned with unique, handcrafted textile vulvas, each reflecting the individuality and beauty of its creator. In bold shades of red, these creations symbolize diversity and pride, celebrating the idea that no two are alike—just like fingerprints. With “vulva power and pride,” this group honours Brigit’s legacy of creativity, courage, and self-expression. Led by textile artist Breege Fahey.

Growler
Dee Mulrooney’s artivist alter ego, Growler—a vibrant vulva costume—will make an appearance in the Brigit: Dublin City Celebrating Women parade. Through Growler, Dee channels women’s voices, transforming pain into powerful storytelling and honouring the spirit of resilience.

Brigits by Bike
Returning for its second year, Brigit by Bike led by artist Donna Cooney is an energetic pageant featured in the inaugural Brigit Festival Parade, part of Brigit: Dublin City Celebrating Women, an initiative proudly supported by Dublin City Council.

Samba Dance Brazil
A lively samba troupe energizes the parade with rhythmic beats and exuberant dances, embodying the spirit of joy and community.

Brigid's Way & Brat Bhríde Brigit's Cloak – Empowering Women
A powerful tribute to women’s strength and unity, this group of spirited women will march through the streets, carrying a massive Brigit’s Cloak (Brat Bhríde) as a symbol of protection, empowerment, and renewal. Dressed in fabulous costumes and holding banners that tell stories of resilience. This bold procession honours both the legacy of Brigit and the ongoing journey of women who continue to inspire and shape the future.

Na Gaiscígh
Na Gaiscígh (The Female Warriors) brings powerful energy to the 2025 parade, honouring both Celtic and modern-day heroes who embody Brigit’s spirit. This dynamic, inclusive collective marches under banners dedicated to diverse icons like Sinéad O’Connor, Gisèle Pelicot, Marsha P. Johnson, and Mary Magdalene, celebrating justice, and courage.

Celebrating Trans Mothers
A sincere and heartfelt tribute to trans mothers, recognising their unique strength and the importance of their voices in the community.

Festival Mná – Empowering Women in Ireland
Festival Mná joins the parade to celebrate Brigit’s spirit through creativity, wisdom, and community. Our vibrant group will feature: 12 talented dancers from an Irish dancing school, the Brat Bride Girls, and a local GAA club proudly wearing their jerseys. Together, they’ll bring energy and meaning to this inspiring celebration.
