Dublin City Council would like to announce a change of venue for the upcoming ‘Dublin City Council Ceol Country’ festival'

Instead of Smithfield Square, the festival will now take place in the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks.

Some of the biggest and brightest musical stars will be taking part in the festival and along with a full weekend of amazing tunes from some of your favourite acts, this brand-new, alcohol-free, family friendly event promises a superb weekend for young and old alike, with something for all ages, from dancing to face-painting, arts & crafts and much, much more!

Music lovers are in for a real treat with some amazing talent on hand to keep everybody dancing for the whole weekend. From 12pm daily, guests can enjoy the music stylings of the fantastic Philomena Begley, Jimmy Buckley & Michael English along with Claudia Buckley, Cliona Hagan and Declan Nerney (to name but a few!) before the arrival of none other than headline acts, and all-round country music legends – Nathan Carter & Mike Denver, performing their best loved hits for what’s sure to be a packed audience of loyal fans!

For those coming along with children of any age, there’s plenty more planned to keep everyone entertained throughout the weekend. Make sure to get involved over at any one of the interactive dancing lessons. Whether you’d rather watch from the sidelines or dive right in and get involved, these fantastic sessions will teach you all the best moves from line dancing and jive dancing with Patricia's Social Dance Class Dublin, to Brush Dancing with Josephine Brennan King. They’ll be bopping away all day so once you’re all danced out, head over to the Arts & Crafts tent for children, hosted by the amazing ArtMaker Dublin, for some country themed crafting. Always a guaranteed hit, there’ll be facepainting for all too, along with some extra – special, themed games selected just for the occasion!

This event will be strictly alcohol free. Attendees are encouraged to travel on foot or via public transport where possible.

Bike Disco

Join us on Friday 20th September for a bike disco to celebrate Culture Night! This free 5km cycle is open to all ages, abilities & bike types! The route will be completely car-free so is a great opportunity for anyone with a bike to take part. Participants are encouraged to light up and decorate their bikes, helmets and outfits to make the event as colourful as possible! The cycle starts at 7.45pm and leaves from the Phoenix Roundabout at Chesterfield Avenue. This event is organised by Fingal County Council, the OPW, Dublin Cycling Campaign and Dublin City Council.
