Europa Experience, Friday 9th May

On 9 May 2025, we are delighted to host a series of events for Europe Day on the theme ‘Democracy in Action’. The day marks the anniversary of the Schuman Declaration and serves as a reminder of the European Union’s commitment to unity, democracy, and solidarity.

Event Highlights:

  • 12:30 pm: Kick off the day with a lively brass band performance by Dublin’s Amos Moses, setting the tone for a vibrant celebration of European identity.
  • 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm: Get ready to meet our star-shaped mascot, who’ll be there to guide you, energize the crowd, and spin the EU Prize Wheel! Answer fun EU trivia for a chance to win cool prizes like tote bags, keyrings, and more!
  • 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm: Capture the moment at our EU-themed photo booth, complete with the event slogan
    “Democracy in Action” and stunning European Union imagery. Perfect for a keepsake from this special day!
  • 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm: Kids can dive into their creativity with EU-inspired face painting—think stars, flags, and cultural symbols representing the rich diversity of Europe.

Why Europe Day? It’s a day to reflect on the unity and shared values that bind us as Europeans. Whether you’re learning about the role of the European Parliament, engaging in fun activities, or simply enjoying the atmosphere, this event brings the spirit of Europe to life.Come celebrate the power of democracy, solidarity, and European unity with the European Parliament Liaison Office in Ireland!

Rose Festival

St Anne's Park

Parks, Biodiversity and Landscape Services are celebrating 50 years of the Rose Garden with the return of the Rose Festival to St. Anne’s Park from 10.00am – 6.00pm on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July 2025. This free festival will have activities for the whole family, including stalls with plants and flowers for sale and arts & crafts for kids. For all the staff who participated in Irish lessons, BAC Le Gaeilge will be there so you can speak a cúpla focal. There will be musical acts including Fused, Back Stage Bandits and the Dublin Ukelele Collective who will play over the weekend.

The award-winning and hugely popular #BrayAirDisplay will make a welcome return for the summer of 2025. And it will be back bigger and better than ever with an incredible lineup The free, family event is one of the most popular air shows in Europe and Ireland’s biggest air festival, attracting thousands to the Co. Wicklow seaside town to marvel at amazing aerobatics. The Bray Air Display is the biggest public free event in Ireland drawing crowds of 140,000+.  It also has the largest movement of the public on the Dart network outside of commuting.

Opera in the Open

Wood Quay Amphitheatre

Opera in the Open is an initiative of Dublin City Council that presents live performances of operatic work in the open air in Dublin City Centre. The annual opera season is taking place on 7, 14, 21 & 28 August in the Amphitheatre at the Dublin City Council Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8. Each opera performance is presented in an abridged format, narrated in English, and lasts one hour, fitting perfectly into the lunchtime slot from 1 to 2pm.
