Taking over Meeting House Square for a second year, the Imbolc Fair returns to welcome Spring and celebrate the spirit of the Celtic goddess Brigit! Drop down from 12:00 – 16:30 and enjoy music from DJ Safarii, grab a coffee and a tasty treat, make a festive flower crown with Flowerpop, learn about the art of blacksmithing with 9 Irons Forge, and so much more. Music from DJ Safarii: From 12:00 – 16:30, DJ Safarii will be on the decks. Safarii is an Irish based DJ know for her open-format approach. Her dedication, enthusiasm, and skill in the art of deejaying shine through in her distinctive remixes, mixes, and stage performances.As an open-format DJ, Safarii seamlessly navigates various genres, including House, Soul, Amapiano, Hip Hop, Funk, and pop.

Festive Flower Crowns with Flowerpop: Select your stems and let the experts at Flowerpop show you how to create a flower crown befitting the Celtic goddess Brigit herself! Sessions take place throughout the day. Capacity is limited so advance booking is advised. Ticket price €20. Book online.

Build a Bouquet with Flowerpop: Join in a mini-workshop with the floral experts from Flowerpop and learn how to make your own beautiful bunch of Bold Blooms! Select your stems from an array of stunning dried flowers and learn how to build a bouquet that will last forever. Ticket price €10. Book online.

Poetry Oracle with Osaro: In honour of Brigit as a patron of poetry, pop in for a chat with our resident poet Osaro who will help you craft your very own, one-of-a-kind poetic masterpiece. Tarot Reading with the Wicklow Witch: Tap into the magic and mysticism of Brigit and visit the Wicklow Witch for a Tarot reading! Our Tarot expert Emer will guide you to the answers you seek through the ancient art of Tarot reading. Sessions take place throughout the day. Capacity is limited so advance booking is advised. Butter Making with Helen Finnegan: Learn how to make your own delicious butter at home with expert Helen Finnegan! With a background in artisan cheese making, Helen now works teaching people how to make cheese and butter at home as well as working as an adivsor to other artisan food producers. This workshop will take you through the steps of making your own butter while exploring some of its fascinating history in Irish Food Culture. Capacity is limited so advance booking is advised. Live Screenprinting with Damn Fine Print: Roll up your sleeves and try your hand at screenprinting! Choose from one of two designs by Jill & Gill specially commissioned for Brigit 2024 and let the experts from Damn Fine Print studio will show you how to create your very own vibrant piece of art you can take home and hang on the wall.

Blacksmithing Demos & Workshops: Stop by the 9 Irons mobile forge for a demonstration in blacksmithing, one of the traditional crafts associated with the goddess Brigit. Learn about the tradition of the 9 irons and meet Ireland's first female graduate in blacksmithing, Mary Hallinan.

Irish Lacemaking with Fiona Harrington: Stop by throughout the day to visit with lacemaker Fiona Harrington as she demonstrates the beautiful Irish tradition of lacemaking and give it a try yourself! Plus at 13:00, 14:00, and 15:00, Fiona will give a brief chat about the history of the craft and answer your questions.

Straw & Rushes in Irish Folk & Country Life with Steffi Otto: Join qualified ecologist, environmental scientist and accomplished craft worker Steffi Otto for some special drop in workshops in celebration of Brigit. Learn how to use rushes and straw to make crosses, biddy dolls, wands, butterfly cages, and more.

Sustainable Bríd Ógs with Joyce Fitzpatrick: Drop in for a visit with botanist, nature therapist, and artist Joyce Fitzpatrick and learn how to make your own Bríd ógs from sustainable natural materials while we share who Brigit is to us.

The Art of Calligraphy with Peannairí: Be captivated by calligraphy as Kevin Honan, Noeleen Frain, and Tom Dunphy from the Irish Association of Calligraphers demonstrate the ancient art of calligraphy. You may even be inspired to pick up a pen and give it a try!
