The Taming of the Shrew

This event has ended

Various Locations, Sunday 25th June - Friday 30th June

Balally Players present an outdoor Shakespeare in the beautiful surroundings of the walled garden at St.Enda’s, Pearse Museum, Rathfarnham. Prepare to be swept away in a merry romp, a life-enhancing comedy about the triumph of marriage over oppression.

In this romantic comedy, Petruchio, a self-confident, swaggering rogue at the beginning, in a way undergoes his own “taming” process to become a loving husband, proud of his wife and delighted with the happiness ahead of them. More mutualistic and game playing, this Shrew hopes the audience will join in, boo and hiss, bring a picnic and enjoy the battle of the sexes.
