After a sensational sell-out run last year, the hills are alive once more this Christmas for the musical of all musicals – The Sound of Music.
Festival Productions – the team that brought you ‘Oliver!’, ‘Annie’, ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and ‘Bugsy Malone’ – returns with this all-singing, all-dancing production of the classic Julie Andrews film, winner of 5 Academy Awards and much loved by generations. This lavish production features a star-studded cast, spectacular costumes and sets, and the wonderful Festival chorus, dancers and orchestra.
Director Tony Finnegan is joined by a multi award winning production team to create this magical Christmas show. Lose your heart to the story of Maria, the young Austrian postulant who is sent to the home of an austere naval officer and widower, Captain Von Trapp to be governess to his 7 children. After bringing love and music into the lives of the family, they find a way to survive the loss of their homeland to the Nazis. The Sound of Music is brim-full of the songs you know and love; My Favourite Things, Do-Re-Mi, So Long, Farewell, Climb Every Mountain and Edelweiss.
This show is sure to sell out – don’t delay in booking!
