Workshop 1: An Introduction to Technology and Digital Literacy in Play Based Emergent Curricula
Date: Thursday, 1st April 2021

Time: 6.30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

This workshop will include:

• A brief overview of relevant international and national policy

• An exploration of how technology can be used as an integral part of a play based emergent curriculum.

• An exploration of how technology can be used in each area (block area, home corner, outdoor etc.)

• An exploration of how technology can support holistic learning and development

Workshop 2: An Introduction to the Adults Role in Technology, Digital Literacy and Digital Citizenship in Play Based Emergent Curricula
Date: Thursday, 8th April 2021

Time: 6.30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

This workshop will include:

• An exploration of the adults role in providing opportunities for children to use technology as an integral part of daily activities and to develop digital literacy skills and develop a sense of digital citizenship.

• Working in partnership with parents.

This workshop will be delivered by Zoom Video Conferencing (however future training/events may be delivered via other secure video conferencing platforms, such as Skype for Business or Microsoft Teams).

Booking Criteria:

This event is prioritised for Practitioners, Providers and Childminders in the Dublin City Childcare Committee catchment area.
If this criteria does not apply to you your booking may be cancelled.
Maximum booking of 2 people per service.
Booking is on a first come first served basis.
Places are limited to 25 attendees due to the nature of the training.
