Treat yourself – or someone you love – to a trip down memory lane.

Join us for a great new lecture series on the history of Dublin. In six live 45-minute talks, Professor David Dickson – the author of the definitive history of Dublin – will tell the story of the city from the arrival of the Vikings in 841 to the arrival of Google in 2003.

The lectures will take place on Zoom at 6pm on March 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th and April 6th.

Tickets for the whole series cost €50, and your host, David Dickson, will answer questions after each talk.

About the Host

David Dickson is one of Ireland’s greatest historians. Professor Emeritus of Modern History at Trinity College Dublin, his recent books include Dublin: The making of a capital city, and Old world colony: Cork and south Munster 1630-1830.

A new study, The first Irish cities: An eighteenth-century transformation is due to be published by Yale in May 2021. David also has a deep interest in ‘public history’ and helped to establish the first Masters course on the subject in Ireland.
