Various Locations, Tuesday 10th February
Safer Internet Day takes place on Tuesday, 10th February 2026. The celebrations will be based around the theme, “AI Aware: Safe, Smart, and in Control”
Safer Internet Day 2026 will explore ways to empower children and young people with the critical thinking and digital literacy skills they need to evaluate content, recognise bias, protect their privacy, and make responsible decisions, and be Safe, Smart and in Control.
This theme invites parents, schools, educators, organisations, young people, and all other stakeholders to consider how AI technologies shape children’s online experiences, recognising both the benefits they offer and the important questions they raise around safety, reliability, bias, privacy, overreliance, and responsible use.
Safer Internet Day serves as a reminder of our shared responsibility to promote online safety, digital literacy, and positive online behaviour, encouraging individuals, families, organisations, and communities to reflect on how technology is used, recognise potential online harms, and take meaningful steps to protect personal information, wellbeing, and rights in digital spaces.
