From the man himself…
“Howayiz my friends. I’m just dropping a quick line to tell youse about a special gig we are going to broadcast to all your homes wherever you live on the 23rd of December. We couldn't let that time of year pass without marking it somehow as we usually play 3 incredible homecoming shows in Dublin then.
We're gona get our amazing band together, the first time in a whole year since last December, and we're gona play out of our skins and try and summon every ounce of heart, love, light and spirit that’s within us, and try and reach out around the World to all the fans out there watching wherever they are and give them a jolt of hope and positivity and get them all soul singing, singing all their cares away.
It'll be a bit weird without you all there, but as long as I know there's people watching us in their homes around the world, i'll be singing like it’s my last night on earth, and i know folks will be doin the same with friends and family and loved ones in their homes around TVs, laptops and phones.
We'll ring in Christmas and the New Year with the Lockdown Singsong of the Century, warn your neighbours now, send them earplugs for Christmas.
Stay strong my friends, the vaccines will change everything and we'll be back singing together as one in beautiful unison before we know it, but until then may the Great Spirit hold you in the hollow of her hand.”
