Science Gallery Dublin's Messin' Sessions is a chance to creatively reflect on the past year and COVID-19 and explore the future.

About this Event
As we launch our OPEN MIND Studio applications for 2020/2021, we wanted to offer a sneak peak of what our interactive online programmes look like. This workshop is open to all Junior Cycle, Transition Year and Senior Cycle students, but is especially recommended for those thinking of applying to Science Gallery Dublin's OPEN MIND studio TY programme.

Following the format of our previously sold-out zine make-shop, the workshop will guide you through some warm-up drawing exercises, introduce zine-making and zine-binding methods, and use expressive drawing and zine construction to reflect on our experiences during the coronavirus pandemic and to creatively imagine the future and the role of technology in sharing and connecting. We will develop and share our imagined futures through our, which will be supported by activities in meditative drawing, reflection, and interactive workshopping.

What you’ll need:

  • Paper and a pencil or pen (different colours if possible).

Optional extras:

  • Thread & needle (to bind your zine) , glue, tape, markers, post-its, scrap paper, collage materials.

The workshop requires no drawing or sewing experience. All are welcome.
