The Lonsdale Project, Created by Super Paua @ Smock Alley Theatre Dublin.

Smock Alley Theatre @smockalley
“Due to the measures put in place by the Irish Government to combat the spread of #COVID19, we are closing #smockalley to the public from tomorrow for two weeks.” (March 12th-29th inclusive)

A new theatre show about the life and work of Kathleen Lonsdale – chemist, crystallographer, anti-war campaigner, writer, mother, and former inmate of Holloway Prison. Despite being a pioneering scientist born in Newbridge in 1903, Kathleen Lonsdale's name and legacy are curiously unknown by the Irish public. Super Paua aims to change that, and so have created The Lonsdale Project to celebrate her life, her writings, and her adventures in x-ray diffraction, crystallography and War! A theatrical, playful and highly original production for audiences young and old that delves into our relationship with science, belief, and with ‘Great Thinkers' who have shaped our lives today, and will shape our world, tomorrow.
