Dublin Beatles Festival

This event has ended

The Workman's Club, Friday 3rd November - Tuesday 7th November

This year is the 60th anniversary of the only time that The Beatles ever played in Dublin (November 7th, 1963, at the Adelphi Cinema on Middle Abbey Street), and the Dublin Beatles Festival is going to mark the occasion in style on November 3rd, 4th, 5th and 7th.

There will of course be lots of live music – including BEATLES FOR SALE playing the exact same set of songs which The Beatles played in Dublin in 1963… 60 years to the night after it originally happened. And HAMBURG BEAT are coming over from the UK to play the raw rock ‘n’ roll which The Beatles played in Germany in the early 1960s. And THE NEWSPAPER TAXI MEN are reuniting for a special headline show at the Workman’s Club for the ‘Big Gig’ on the Saturday night.

The great FREDA KELLY is coming home to Dublin to do a public interview with TOM DUNNE – after a showing of the award-winning documentary GOOD OL’ FREDA. And Jason Carty and Steven Cockcroft from the world’s top Beatle podcast NOTHING IS REAL are going to set the questions and present this year’s annual BEATLES TABLE QUIZ.

There will be a performance of LENNON & SHOTTON, a stage play about John Lennon and his best friend Pete Shotton, and their wild years at Quarry Bank High School in Liverpool. And there will be more live music from artists such as LET IT BE-ATLES, FIACH MORIARTY, LENIN & LIONEL, DUNCAN MAITLAND and PADRAIG BENNETT.

Heck, there’ll even be a ukelele version of the ‘Abbey Road’ album from POLYTHENE JAM. And TERRY SAUNDERS FREE BEATLES WALKING TOUR is back by popular demand
