For over a century, The Dublin City Liffey Swim has been the pinnacle of the open sea season. This historic event provides an unforgettable experience for competitors and spectators. The swim starts at Rory O’More Bridge near Guinness Brewery gate and ends at North Wall Quay famously standing before The Custom House, passing under eleven bridges along the route, including landmarks like the Four Courts.

Swim Ireland are delighted to be hosting this event on Saturday 7th September 2024 with the women’s race starting a 1.15pm followed by the men’s race at 2.30pm and a prize giving and refreshments at Custom House Quay afterwards.

Entries are now open for the 104th Dublin City Liffey Swim and in continuing with the tradition and format of the race, swimmers will be allocated handicaps for the race.

Timings for the Day:
Ladies Swim (Ages 13+ with club/coach approval for under 16's) – 1.15 pm
Men’s Swim (Ages 13+ with club/coach approval for under 16's) – 2.30 pm

Registration on Friday 6th September at Swim Ireland offices from 5pm to 8pm.

Swimmers will also have to check in on Saturday morning ahead of their race. Safety Briefings to take place before each race.

Ireland v Fiji – Autumn Nations Series

Ireland will face Fiji at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Saturday 23rd November. This will be the third of four autumn internationals to be played by Ireland in 2024. In their most recent encounter, Ireland beat the Flying Fijians 35-17 during the 2022 autumn series. This will be only the sixth time that the two teams have met in a Test match. Ireland have won all five previous encounters.

Ireland v Australia – Autumn Nations Series

Ireland will face Australia at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Saturday 30th November. This will be the fourth and final autumn international to be played by Ireland in 2024. This match will also commemorate Irish Rugby’s 150th anniversary. In their most recent encounter, Ireland beat the Wallabies 13-10 during the 2022 autumn series. Overall, Ireland and Australia have played each other on 37 occasions since their first meeting in 1927. The Wallabies have won 22 matches, whilst Ireland have won 14 matches. There has also been one draw between the two sides.
