Dublin is a very popular place to learn English. In fact, local Dubliners believe they speak the language better than anyone else – including the English.
You’ll find dedicated English language schools throughout Dublin, as well as English courses at local colleges. So it’s a good idea to spend some time working out which option is best for you.
Long-established and internationally affiliated English language schools include Berlitz, Kaplan and The English Studio.
Other highly-rated English language colleges in the city include Everest Language School, Atlas Language School, Your English, the International School of English, Englishour, Delfin, Apollo, ULearn, Horner School of English, Arena School of English and the Central School of English. But this list isn’t exhaustive, there are many more institutions to choose from.
There’s also highly reputable third-level colleges and universities like IBAT, DCU, TCD, UCD and Dorset College which offer English language teaching among their many other courses.
If you want to study in Dublin in order to earn a degree, most universities also offer ‘pre-sessional’ English language programmes. These are designed to help international students improve their English before they start on a degree course. Maynooth University, TU Dublin, DCU and UCD all have one.
