Journey to Brigid’s Well: A Cycle Pilgrimage and Healing Ceremony

Meeting Point: Opposite the Gatekeeper's Hut at the Bike Shop, Saturday 31st January

Cycle Pilgrimage to Brigid’s Well in Phoenix Park

Join Dr Karen Ward, co-rediscoverer of Brigid’s Way Celtic Pilgrimage, for a unique cycle pilgrimage to the hidden Brigid’s Well in Phoenix Park.

Beginning at the Chesterfield Avenue entrance (near a Dublin City bike station), participants will set their intentions as a ‘mini tribe’ and cycle together through the park. Along the way, Karen will share the stories and legends of Brigid, both Celtic Goddess and Matron Saint of Ireland, whose timeless wisdom has inspired and empowered women across the ages.

Upon reaching the well, the pilgrimage will culminate in a special Cleansing Ceremony, using the pure spring water of Brigid’s Well for renewal and reflection. The ceremony will be accompanied by song, and participants are invited to bring their Brigid crosses to bless in the waters, connecting with her healing and transformative energy.

This journey offers a meaningful and peaceful way to honour Brigid’s spirit while embracing the natural beauty of Phoenix Park.

Brigit x District Gemma Dunleavy

Abbey Presbyterian Church

Brigit x District opens the festival weekend with a rare headline performance from Gemma Dunleavy. Since the release of UP DE FLATS in 2020, Dunleavy has largely stepped away from releasing music, choosing instead to refine her sound behind the scenes. Her return for Brigit feels timely. Rooted in stories of working-class Dublin and shaped by her upbringing in Sheriff Street, her club-pop songs balance emotional clarity with sharp, understated production. Set within the intimate surroundings of the Presbyterian Church, this show offers a focused live moment to mark Brigit: Dublin City Ce
