Trinity College, Friday 9th May - Saturday 10th May

The Academy of the Near Future is delighted to invite you to the inaugural Connective Detective Exhibition on 9th & 10th May at Trinity College Dublin, featuring smart city prototypes from the next generation of innovators—and much more!

At the exhibition, you’ll discover how telecommunications infrastructure, connectivity, and smart city technologies work and how they are used in Dublin. You’ll also get to see smart city prototypes designed by our young innovators during the workshops, which we are very proud of!

But that’s not all! Visitors are invited to share their ideas, design their own with smart city designs out of Lego and recycling materials, and explore the evolution of telecommunications.

So expect a mix of information and engaging activites! We can’t wait to welcome you to our very first ‘The Connective Detective’ Exhibition:)

‘The Connective Detective’ programme is a free, creative and engaging workshop series designed for 5th and 6th class primary school students in collaboration with Smart Docklands/ Connect Research Ireland Centre for Future Networks/ Dublin City Council. Through hands-on activities, they explore telecommunications, connectivity, and smart cities in a fun and interactive way. The programme runs since early 2024 and so far we have engaged with 12 schools and over 450 students in the wider Dublin area.
