Richmond Barracks St Brigid’s Day Fair

Join us in the heart of Inchicore at Richmond Barracks for a fair filled with crafts, fun and lots to do. Our fairs have workshops to attend, entertainment to enjoy, food to feast on and a huge variety of items from over 30 stalls to purchase such as clothing, crafts, design and art.

Visitors of all ages will have the chance to take part in the free Spring themed drop-in creative workshops for all ages. Free workshops are a regular part of the Culture Connects @ Richmond Barracks programme. Facilitated by experienced artists and practitioners, the workshops include juggling, upcycling fabrics to create floral crowns, crochet and learning to make and design patterned wrapping paper, gift cards and graphic posters. Facilitators include Change Clothes Crumlin, a new clothing reuse hub in Dublin 12, circus artist Fadi Zmorrod and artist and printmaker Clare Henderson. There will be workshops and readings themed around St Brigid over the weekend too.

There are a majority of female led businesses and vendors selling their products, crafts and designs at the Fair. Visitors can choose from a wide array of gift ideas, including: trees, plants and gardening kits, fresh flowers, natural skincare and cosmetics, handmade bathing and shaving products, first period kits and sustainable hygiene items , handmade textiles eco printed with real leaves and dyed with plant-based dyes; handmade jewellery made with Mizuhiki, Japanese traditional paper strings, Mulberry silk pillowcases, silk eye masks and a range of gift sets put together with small Irish businesses. There will be books by Irish authors, photography and prints from local artists and even some witchy products including full moon aura sprays, crystals and spell kits.

Food and drink options will be supplied by social and sustainable enterprises FoodCloud Kitchen, Mugshot Cafe and Revolution Farm and Kitchen, as well as Pincho Dublin, Good Vibrations Coffee, Pincho Dublin and the Crepe Escape. Entertainment on both days will include the Dublin Ukelele Collective, an exciting dance troupe called the Queens Project and Inchicore’s St. James’s Brass and Reed Band, considered Ireland’s oldest band.

Visitors can also find out what’s coming up in the Richmond Barracks Culture Connects programme for all ages, including free workshops teaching crafts, dance, gardening, local history, storytelling and singing.
