Pinocchio

dlr Mill Theatre, Thursday 3rd December - Sunday 3rd January

Step into a magical world where wishes can come true!

Join us this festive season, as the dlr Mill Theatre invites audiences to follow the world’s most famous wooden puppet on a thrilling adventure of discovery, mischief, and heart. Pinocchio promises to be a spectacular reimagining of Carlo Collodi’s classic tale. Written and directed by Geoff O’Keeffe, this production brings the story to life with beautiful puppetry, stunning set designs, a mix of original music and familiar songs, and a healthy dose of Christmas sparkle.

When a fabulous Fairy grants the goodly Geppetto his wish, Pinocchio the puppet comes to life. Full of mischief, excitement and a longing for adventure, he ignores good advice from a charming Cricket, gives a sob story to a perplexed Puppet Master and gets conned by a pair of conniving con artists – the feckless Fox and calamitous Cat. Poor Geppetto searches and searches for Pinocchio who meets a bold Boy with the bluest of hair. From the Field of Dreams to the belly of a whale, this remarkable journey shows us what it truly means to be “real” through high-energy performances, comedy, laughter and music.

This show, which is rooted in storytelling, vivid characters and beautifully rendered puppetry, is most suitable for children aged between six and ten and their families.
