Some of Our Children

The New Theatre, Thursday 1st October - Friday 2nd October

Quintessence Theatre follow their National Tours of Cracks; The Curious Case of Albert Cashier and Belfast Girls, with this powerful portrayal of a child’s life in the Irish Foster care system.

“Imagine turning up at the door of a house.
A house you’ve never seen before, in a town you don’t know.
A house you’re going to be living in, with people you’ve never met.
And all you have is a black bin bag.
A bag that carries your whole life…”

Inspired by real stories, Quintessence Theatre use their innovative physical ensemble storytelling techniques to explore the lived experience of children-in-care in Ireland & expose the failures of the Irish Foster care system.

An original play, devised by the company, SOME OF OUR CHILDREN is a compelling, & often comedic, drama that highlights the shortcomings of the care system in Ireland, while also amplifying the voices of some of our State’s most vulnerable citizens.

What began as a grassroots initiative has grown into a week-long programme of runway shows, exhibitions, workshops, and community-led events. Today, DIFW continues to grow its platform, partnerships, and

CHOP

Axis Ballymun

Prepare for CHOP, a dangerously funny, wildly absurd theatre performance written and performed by Cian Kinsella (Lords of Strut). This high-energy one-man show dives into fragile masculinity, social satire, and environmental collapse with sharp humour and physical wit that keeps audiences buzzing long after the curtain falls. CHOP blends comedy and chaos with theatrical playfulness, creating a performance that’s unpredictable, thought-provoking, and unapologetically entertaining. Driven by Kinsella’s dynamic stage presence, the piece pushes boundaries and invites audiences into its absu
