The CCD, Tuesday 25th June - Friday 28th June 2019

Dublin City Council host the Velo-City 2019 international cycling conference in the Convention Centre Dublin.

The Velo-City conference is the European Cyclists' Federation (ECF) annual global cycling summit organised by the ECF and selected host cities. The Velo-City conference is the world's largest conference in the area of; cycling, cycling infrastructure, bicycle innovations, bicycle safety, and social/cultural changes driven by cycling on a global scale. The conference attracts those involved in technology, health, behavioural change, urban & infrastructure policies, mobility and transport.

Velo-city will be held in the CCD, located on the banks of the River Liffey and positioned at the convergence of several key coastal, river and canal cycle routes. The historic, cultural and social amenities of the city centre are within ten minutes walking distance – and are even closer by bike! The CCD is located in the Docklands area currently being regenerated in line with sustainable principles and designed predominantly for active modes. Existing cycle routes and greenways to visit include the Tolka Valley Park Greenway, the Grand Canal cycle route and the Sutton to Clontarf cycle route, where delegates can experience part of the East Coast Trail which runs along the coast of Dublin Bay at the heart of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve area.
