The Battle of Kildare Place

Meeting Point: Outside the Shelbourne Hotel, Wednesday 6th July - Saturday 16th July

THIS SPARKLING COMEDY is the latest in Bewley's Cafe Theatre's highly acclaimed WALKABOUT series of outdoor performances in historic Dublin locations.

Two estranged sisters meet at Kildare Place to discuss a memorial to their father who was a celebrated campaigner against the destruction of Georgian Dublin. An awkward reunion turns to furious disagreement over their father's work and cuts to the heart of their own fractured relationship; one wants desperately to hold onto things as they are while the other wants to rip up the past.

The sparks fly in this witty comedy as they battle over family history, Brutalist architecture and the legacy of their colourful but controversial dad.
The Battle of Kildare Place is a heady mix of architectural debate and sibling rivalry in the heart of the Georgian City.
