Poppintree Community Art and Sport Celebration

Poppintree Community Sports Centre, Saturday 19th July

Come along for the unveiling of the new astroturf pitch, mural and art room at Poppintree Community Sports Centre. Representing the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Cllr Alison Field will be launching the facilities and artwork from 1.30 pm to 3 pm on Saturday 19 July.

Poppintree Community Sports Centre and the local community have been taking part in a Creative Residency in Art and Sport with artist Mark Joyce, run by Dublin City Council’s Sports Section and Dublin City Council Culture Company.

The new mural and art room were developed as part of a Creative Residency with Dublin City Council Culture Company, Poppintree Community Sports Centre and visual artist Mark Joyce. Mark has been based in Poppintree Community Sports Centre in Dublin 11 since September 2024. He has worked on projects with groups including Crosscare Ballymun Youth Block, the Aisling Project, and Poppintree Youth Project, along with regular drop in art workshops for the local community.

On the day you can try out art workshops, have a go at bowls and badminton, and take a tour of the community sports centre. This is a family-friendly, free event and refreshments will be provided.

Parks, Biodiversity and Landscape Services are celebrating 50 years of the Rose Garden with the return of the Rose Festival to St. Anne’s Park from 10.00am – 6.00pm on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July 2025.
