Supervalu Raheny, Wednesday 26th September

Getting the MessagesDementia Inclusive Shopping launch at Supervalu Raheny.

Getting the Messages is a pilot project designed to support those living with dementia and their carers by making it easier for them to shop and do business in their local communities. It involves staff training and additional supports such as signage, appropriate displays and seating to create a dementia inclusive environment.

The launch takes places on Wednesday, 26th September 14:00-16:30 at SuperValu Raheny and will feature the Forget-Me-Nots Choir – a choir which unites those affected by dementia with caregiver family and friends. Each Wednesday from the 26th onwards, SuperValu Raheny will have supports and appropriate facilities available to enable shoppers living with dementia and their carers to have a positive and inclusive experience.

The project is sponsored by Dublin City Council in collaboration with the Alzheimer's Society of Ireland and aims to support those impacted by dementia and local businesses to become dementia inclusive.
