Gabrielle Aplin: Dear Happy Tour – Live at The Olympia Theatre Dublin.
Support from Emily Burns and Nick Wilson.
Gabrielle Aplin released her third album, Dear Happy, on January 17th. Gabrielle said, “I'm so excited to release Dear Happy into the world. It's been a few years in the works as I figured out what I wanted to say with my third album. The start of this album, without knowing at the time, coincided with the moment I made a definitive decision to start to unravel and rewire my brain. Dear Happy subsequently became a documentation of this journey to myself. I wanted to use writing as a way of understanding. Sonically, I wanted to capture these moments and experiences in a positive light. I want to listen back to these songs in 5 years and hear happiness and positivity. It's an album about saying “f**k it!” to your worries and insecurities. Or maybe it's an album that invites your worries and insecurities to sit with you. It's an album about saying “no”. It's an album about saying “YES”. It's an album that is a past, present and future letter to myself.”
Dear Happy is an uplifting pop record that chronicles Gabrielle's life, and the experiences and cultures she has been inspired by whilst touring and travelling the world over the past couple of years. The love for her around the world in 2019 was no better demonstrated than from the single Losing Me, a dreamy collaboration between Gabrielle and JP Cooper, which featured in 36 New Music Friday Spotify playlists including the UK, achieving multi-million streams alongside great support from Radio 1, Radio 2 and more. Gabrielle Aplin has worked with producers Mike Spencer (Tom Walker, Zara Larsson, Years & Years), Lostboy (Dua Lipa, Becky Hill, Sigala), The Barn Productions (Lewis Capaldi, Dean Lewis) and 5YA (Sigrid) on the new album.
