Dublin City Council Social Inclusion Week
Various Locations, Monday 26th September - Saturday 1st October 2016
The purpose of the annual Social Inclusion Week is to raise awareness of both social Inclusion and exclusion as it affects the lives of communities, families and individuals. Social Inclusion week also highlights Dublin City Council’s role in reducing social exclusion and poverty as part of its everyday delivery of services including our support for community and voluntary groups across the city as well through its sports and cultural and housing services.
Social Inclusion week comprises of a series of events and activities that are held in communities throughout the city over the course of the week. Many of these events are organised and delivered by groups at risk of social exclusion including migrant groups, people with disabilities, homeless and the LGBT groups with the assistance of Dublin City Council’s libraries, community and sports sections. The events provide an opportunity for the city council and the general public to meet with a wide range of community organisations with a role in promoting social inclusion and to learn more about the types of support, advice and knowledge available to groups at risk of exclusion.
