Celine Byrne: Home for Christmas
Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Sunday 18th December 2016
Internationally-acclaimed soprano Celine Byrne has today announced her Christmas gala concert Celine Byrne Home for Christmas on December 18th at Dublin's Bord Gáis Energy Theatre. After returning from concerts in Russia and China, Celine’s festive concert follows the successful run of La Bohème.
At the Christmas gala, she will perform popular songs from the world of Opera and Operetta such as O Mio Babbino Caro, Un bel Di from Madame Butterfly and Villia from The Merry Widow, along with festive favourites such as the haunting In The Bleak Mid-Winter, O Holy Night and White Christmas. She will be joined on stage by her festive orchestra conducted by David Brophy.
A frequent concert performer, Celine Byrne is very familiar to both Irish and international audiences. Most recently she performed with José Carreras in China and performed with Andrea Bocelli in the 3 Arena, Dublin in September. National Concert Hall regulars have enjoyed her appearances with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, while her lush tones have filled stages from London's Royal Albert Hall to New York's famous Carnegie Hall.
“This has been a fantastic year for me,” says Celine, “From performing in the Royal Albert Hall, London to Huguang Guild Hall, Beijing, home to Ireland to sing in RTÉ’s wonderful Centenary TV concert and all the while receiving great reviews for my Opera roles. But I am so looking forward to this Celine Byrne Home for Christmas Show at the Bord Gais on December 18th. I know that conductor David Brophy will bring out the very best in me and the orchestra and it will be the perfect night to start everyone’s Christmas week.”
